Pilates

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a system of exercises designed to engage your mind and condition your body. Pilates distinct from other fitness regimens because it's low impact and addresses the body as a whole. Over time, this balanced approach allows your body to start working as an efficient, holistic system in sport and daily activity. Pilates emphasizes quality of movement rather than quantity, which leaves you feeling invigorated after each session. Pilates is perfect for any age, body type or fitness level!

Why I Teach Pilates

I began teaching mat Pilates in 2014, and discovered reformer Pilates when I was searching for safe and effective rehabilitation options after I completed my second brain surgery in 2015. I was feeling overwhelmed by the long process of recovery ahead of me, and frustrated by my new physical and emotional limitations. When I learned that reformer Pilates was invented specifically for rehabilitation, I gave it a try. I was blown away by the results and have been incorporating Pilates apparatus in my comprehensive approach to fitness and wellness ever since.
